Senior Data Governance Analyst - 12 month contract

Your new company An opportunity exists to join a large and complex organisation undertaking a significant enterprise-wide data transformation program. The organisation is investing heavily in strengthening its data governance, data management, and enterprise data capabilities to improve decision-making, accountability, and the management of critical data assets. Working within a collaborative and high-performing team, you will play a key role in driving the successful adoption of data governance practices across the business.

Your new role

As a Senior Data Governance Implementation Analyst, you will be responsible for implementing data governance frameworks, operating models, and governance processes across multiple business domains. Partnering closely with business, technology, and program stakeholders, you will facilitate workshops, establish governance forums, define data ownership and stewardship responsibilities, and support the embedding of governance activities into business-as-usual operations.

Key responsibilities include

- Driving the implementation of data governance operating models across assigned business areas.
- Facilitating stakeholder workshops to establish governance roles, responsibilities, and processes.
- Translating governance requirements into practical and sustainable business processes.
- Identifying and managing implementation risks, dependencies, and organisational challenges.




- Monitoring governance implementation progress and ensuring successful adoption across business functions.
- Supporting organisational change initiatives and embedding recent ways of working.

What you'll need to succeed

- Proven experience delivering data governance or data transformation initiatives within large, complex organisations.
- Demonstrated experience implementing data governance frameworks, operating models, and governance processes.
- Strong understanding of data governance concepts including data ownership, stewardship, metadata management, business glossary, critical data elements, and data quality.
- Experience leading workshops and influencing business, technology, and senior stakeholder groups.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills with the ability to build consensus and drive outcomes.
- Experience supporting organisational change and embedding new operating models and processes.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Previous experience working within highly regulated environments will be highly regarded.
