Melbourne

You've spent 10+ years in dentistry. Ready to put that experience to work at a whole recent level?

Dental One is looking for one or more exceptional senior dental nurses who know how a dental practice really works and are ready to take ownership, lead people and make things happen. We're looking for the experienced, resourceful person everyone turns to when there's a problem. Someone who can train a junior nurse, manage a difficult personality, troubleshoot equipment, negotiate with suppliers and jump on the front desk when needed.

Someone who doesn't just identify problems — they solve them.

What you'll actually be doing

- Leading and training: Developing nursing and reception teams, setting standards, managing personalities and holding people accountable.
- Keeping clinics running: Solving day-to-day operational challenges, managing equipment issues, stock, ordering and supplier relationships.
- Getting hands-on: Nursing, covering reception, helping with sterilisation or whatever else is needed. No task is beneath a good leader.
- Improving the business: Identifying inefficiencies, reducing costs, improving processes and assisting with clinic fitouts, equipment and expansion projects.
- Supporting multiple locations: Primarily based at a major clinic such as Lower Templestowe, while training and supporting teams across other Dental One practices.

What you MUST bring

- Minimum 10 years' hands-on private dental practice experience, including chairside nursing and reception.
- Proven experience leading and managing staff, including training, difficult conversations and performance issues.
- Strong technical knowledge of dental equipment (Sirona), instruments,

maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Practical experience managing stock, suppliers, purchasing and operational requirements.
- Certificate III in Dental Assisting minimum; Certificate IV preferred.
- Adaptability, initiative, excellent judgement and the confidence to take responsibility without constant direction.

We have excellent systems, technology and experienced Area Managers to support you. We'll teach you how Dental One operates, but we're not looking to teach you the fundamentals you've had a decade to master.

What makes this opportunity different?

$80,000–$100,000 + super. We reward proven capabilities, not just job titles. Exceptional experience and demonstrated leadership skills will command higher remuneration. A genuine career pathway. This is an opportunity to progress beyond traditional dental nursing into multi-site operations and potentially Dental One's senior leadership team, with further earning potential as your responsibilities grow. With 12 locations across Melbourne and more opening soon you have plenty of room to contribute.

Real influence. You'll have the opportunity to make decisions, develop people, improve clinics and see the results of your work.

Modern facilities and technology. We invest heavily in the systems and equipment that help our teams work efficiently.

Staff benefits.

Discounts on dental treatments at Dental One and skin and aesthetic treatments through Avesa Health.

Is this really for you?

We're looking for someone ambitious who wants to build a serious career, not simply find their next dental job. You'll need to be comfortable with responsibility, changing priorities, different personalities and occasionally getting your hands dirty.

If you prefer narrowly defined duties and waiting for someone else to make decisions, this probably isn't the right opportunity.

But if you're the person who's already keeping everything together at your current clinic — and you're ready to be recognised and rewarded for it — we want to hear from you.

How to apply — show us what you've got

A generic cover letter won't cut it. Along with your resume, answer these four questions with specific examples from your experience:

1. Problem-solving: Tell us about a time equipment failed or something went seriously wrong in a clinic. What did YOU do to get things running again?
2. Leadership: Describe a difficult staff member or team situation you personally managed. How did you handle it?
3. Initiative: What's the best operational improvement you've made — whether reducing costs, negotiating with suppliers, training staff or improving efficiency?
4. Ambition: Why do you want this opportunity, and what makes you ready to take on significantly more responsibility?

Be specific. We want real examples, your actions and the outcomes — not generic statements about being a team player. Applications without these answers will not be shortlisted.
