Senior Infrastructure Engineer

12-month contract with potential extensions

Altitude is seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to work with a major Australian Government agency.

In this role, your F5 expertise will help keep critical services secure, resilient and available to millions of Australians every day. Sitting within the Data Centre Network team, you will take technical ownership of an enterprise application delivery environment, leading platform upgrades, performance optimisation and cyber security uplift while sharing your knowledge with the wider team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the administration, engineering and operational support of enterprise F5 platforms, including LTM, DNS/GTM and APM services
- Design, implement and maintain F5 configurations including virtual servers, pools, monitors, SSL/TLS profiles, traffic policies, iRules, certificates and security controls
- Investigate and resolve complex platform, application and network performance issues through packet analysis, root cause investigation and system log analysis
- Lead software upgrades, vulnerability remediation, hardware lifecycle management and cyber security uplift activities
- Collaborate with vendors and internal technical teams, and transfer knowledge to staff through documentation, coaching and operational handovers.

Key Requirements:

- Must be able to obtain a Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1)

- Expert level experience administering and troubleshooting F5 platforms in large, complex enterprise environments, with extensive hands on experience across LTM, DNS/GTM and APM technologies
- Strong understanding of F5 traffic management architecture, SSL offloading, load balancing methodologies, authentication services and application delivery optimisation
- Experience managing certificates, SSL/TLS configurations, iRules, high availability clusters and disaster recovery solutions
- Advanced knowledge of UNIX/Linux operating systems, command line diagnostics, packet capture analysis and log investigation
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, routing, switching, VLANs, firewalls, segmentation and data centre networking.
