About the Role

Shire Doctors and Dentists is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated Senior Medical Receptionist to join our friendly and growing multidisciplinary healthcare team in Caringbah. We are seeking someone who is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service, enjoys working in a supportive team, and takes pride in creating a positive experience for every patient.

As a senior member of our reception team, you will play an important role in supporting daily practice operations, assisting colleagues, and ensuring our busy medical centre runs smoothly.

For the right candidate, this role offers an opportunity to progress into an Assistant Practice Manager position, with ongoing mentoring, training, and professional development.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver outstanding customer service and ensure a welcoming patient experience
- Manage appointments, patient enquiries, phone calls, and daily reception duties
- Support doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, and colleagues
- Manage Medicare billing, payments, and administrative processes
- Guide and support junior reception staff and encourage positive teamwork
- Assist with reception workflows, rostering, and daily practice operations
- Liaise with suppliers and contractors and assist with stock management
- Work closely with the Practice Manager to improve efficiency, patient care, and team performance

About You

We are looking for a positive, reliable, and motivated team player who brings:
- Solid experience in medical reception, preferably in a busy general practice
- Exceptional customer service skills and a genuine passion for patient care
- Robust communication, teamwork,



and interpersonal skills
- A proactive attitude, initiative, and willingness to take responsibility
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask
- Experience with Best Practice software and Medicare billing
- A professional, friendly, and supportive approach to patients and colleagues
- An interest in developing leadership skills and progressing professionally
- Valid Australian work rights

Previous senior reception or supervisory experience will be highly regarded.
