My client is a well-established environmental consultancy, and they’re looking for an experienced Botanist to step into a Senior or Principal role in their Perth team.

It’s a permanent position with a steady pipeline of flora work across WA, mostly for mining, infrastructure and government clients. The level, title and package will be set to match your experience.

About the role

You’ll be planning and leading flora and vegetation surveys across WA bioregions, from desktop assessments through to Level 1 and Level 2 surveys. You’ll also write up the results and help clients through the approvals side.

At Senior level, the focus is on running projects, leading field teams and mentoring junior botanists. At Principal level, you’ll also be the technical lead on larger or more complex jobs, review reports, and help shape how the team grows.

Expect a mix of office and field time, with regular field trips during survey season.

What you’ll need

- A degree in botany, ecology, environmental science or similar
- Around 7+ years’ flora survey experience in WA, ideally within consulting
- Robust plant identification skills and good knowledge of WA flora

- Experience working to EPA technical guidance for flora and vegetation surveys
- Solid report writing,



and the confidence to deal directly with clients
- A WA driver’s licence and comfort with remote fieldwork

- Full Australian work rights

Key details
