Enterprise Risk Senior Analyst / Functional Specialist

8-Month Contract | Sydney

Sydney CBD | Hybrid | 8-month contract | Australian Citizenship required An opportunity is available for an experienced Enterprise Risk / Operational Risk professional to provide hands-on support within the Enterprise Risk function of a Commonwealth regulatory organisation.

This is a delivery-focused contract suited to a Senior Analyst / Functional Specialist-level practitioner who can quickly step into an established team, work independently and provide practical support across day-to-day risk, governance and compliance activities.

This is not an executive or Head of Risk position . The focus is on getting into the detail, completing risk activities and producing high-quality outputs with minimal supervision.

The Role

Working alongside risk partners and Enterprise Risk team members, you'll support business-as-usual operational risk, compliance, resilience and governance activities.

Your responsibilities will include

- Supporting and performing risk assessments, control reviews and risk workshops
- Maintaining risk, incident and issue registers , action plans and supporting documentation
- Preparing governance reporting, committee papers, dashboards, presentations and briefing materials
- Monitoring compliance obligations and tracking management actions
- Facilitating workshops and engaging with stakeholders across the organisation
- Supporting operational and enterprise risk management activities
- Providing practical risk support and advice within an established Enterprise Risk team




- Assisting with governance, compliance and resilience activities
- Contributing to risk processes, tools and reporting.

About You We're looking for an experienced risk practitioner who enjoys hands-on delivery and can become productive quickly.

You'll ideally bring

- Demonstrated experience in operational risk, enterprise risk, governance and/or compliance
- Practical experience completing risk assessments, control reviews and other risk management activities
- Experience maintaining risk and issue registers and following up actions
- Working knowledge of risk management, compliance and/or control assurance frameworks
- Experience preparing clear governance reports, committee papers, presentations and briefing materials
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn information into practical risk recommendations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence working with stakeholders across different business areas
- The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality work with minimal supervision
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft 365 collaboration tools.





Who This Role Will Suit This opportunity is particularly well suited to someone with solid enterprise risk, operational risk, governance or compliance experience who remains close to the day-to-day delivery of risk activities.

It is not targeted at Head of Risk, Director or executive-level candidates , nor practitioners whose recent careers have predominantly focused on executive advisory or large-scale risk transformation.

Contract & Working Arrangements

- Contract: 8-month engagement
- Location: Sydney CBD
- Working arrangement: Hybrid, with at least 50% of working time expected in the Sydney CBD office
- Hours: 38 hours per week
- Eligibility: Australian Citizenship is mandatory. An appropriate Australian Government security clearance and/or nationally coordinated criminal history check may also be required.
