Service Advisor – Permanent Part-Time

32 Hours per Week | Monday to Thursday | Macgregor

Southside Cylinder Head Service is a well-established engine reconditioning and automotive machining business located in Macgregor, Brisbane.

We are looking for an organised, mechanically minded Service Advisor to join our team in a permanent part-time position, working 32 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, with an occasional Friday if required and no weekend work

This is a diverse role combining customer service, workshop coordination, administration and technical support. You will be a key point of contact between our customers and workshop team and will play an important role in keeping jobs organised and customers informed.

The Role A significant part of this position involves handling incoming phone calls and customer enquiries, so we're looking for someone who is confident on the phone and comfortable discussing automotive and mechanical issues with both trade and retail customers.

Your responsibilities will include

- Handling incoming phone calls and customer enquiries

- Providing customers with general and technical information regarding their jobs

- Preparing quotes and estimates

- Invoicing completed jobs

- Booking jobs and managing the workshop schedule

- Ordering and coordinating parts

- Liaising with retail customers, suppliers, mechanics and trade customers

- Providing technical assistance to mechanics and customers where required

- Assisting with quality control and final job checks





- Organising and coordinating delivery runs

- Post job completion customer follow-up

- Monitoring and interacting with our social media platforms

- General service advising and workshop administration

- Helping coordinate the flow of jobs between the front office and workshop

About You

Automotive or mechanical experience is preferred. This position would particularly suit someone with previous experience as a service advisor, automotive parts interpreter, mechanic, engine reconditioner or in a similar automotive workshop role.

You will ideally have

- Good automotive and mechanical knowledge

- Excellent phone manner and customer service skills
- The ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally

- Strong computer and administrative skills

- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to manage multiple jobs and priorities in a busy workshop

- Confidence dealing with customers, suppliers and mechanics
- The ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- A proactive approach to customer follow-up and service

- Experience with Automation Premium would be an advantage
