Hinterland Ultrasound is a locally owned, family-run private ultrasound practice based in Alstonville, in the beautiful Northern Rivers region of NSW.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Sonographer to join our team on a casual basis, with a commitment to one regular day per week, as well as additional work to cover staff sick leave and annual leave.

The successful applicant will be an experienced Sonographer with a minimum of five years’ post-qualification experience and, in particular, strong competency in obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound.

You will be confident working autonomously, maintaining high imaging and reporting standards, and providing a professional and reassuring experience for patients.





The role will involve performing a range of diagnostic ultrasound examinations appropriate to your clinical experience and scope of practice, with a particular emphasis on obstetric and gynaecological imaging.

Key responsibilities

- Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with professional standards and established clinical protocols.
- Demonstrate strong clinical competency in obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound.
- Obtain diagnostic images and measurements accurately, with attention to detail.
- Recognise relevant abnormalities and escalate significant or urgent findings in accordance with clinical protocols.
- Produce accurate, comprehensive and clinically useful documentation to support referring practitioners.
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients, including when examinations or findings may cause anxiety.
- Work collaboratively with the clinic team and reporting practitioners.
- Maintain patient confidentiality, accurate records and a high standard of clinical governance.
- Contribute to a positive, respectful and supportive workplace.

Pay: From $90.00 per hour
