About the role

You will work with and support our Head Chef, ensuring an overall smooth kitchen operation. You will deliver a high standard of product across multiple outlets including à-la-carte breakfast, lunch, dinner, events and in room dining.

View Melbourne is a popular full service upper scale property located in Melbourne's city fringe, featuring 206 guest rooms, a busy buffet breakfast, Restaurant, Café and Beer Garden. The entire commercial kitchen has been recently refurbished with brand new top of the line equipment within a large space.

Key responsibilities

- Work with and support the Head Chef, ensuring an overall smooth kitchen operation

- Share ideas, opinions, and suggestions to improve the kitchen environment and menus

- Ensure food costs are kept within the budget along with managing labour costs

- Maintain strong time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure

- Understand local regulations concerning health, safety, or other compliance requirements

- Deliver a high standard of product across multiple outlets including à-la-carte breakfast, lunch, dinner,



events and in room dining

- Ordering, stock control and receiving of goods

About you

- Attention to detail and a focus on customer service

- Professional attitude, and a passion for the hospitality industry

- Strong leadership skills

- Ability to train junior staff members

- Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills

- Creative and innovative approach to menu development

- Possess necessary qualifications in commercial cookery and have the appropriate current food safety certificates

- Available to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and public holidays
