Support Worker – Children & Young People with Disability

We’re looking for an active, outgoing and reliable Support Worker to join our team!

About the Role

You’ll mainly support children and young people with disability, so we need someone who loves getting involved. That means playing, joining in activities, getting out into the community and keeping up with busy kids (and sometimes adult participants!). You’ll also need to communicate confidently and warmly with both participants and their families.

We’re seeking someone with a genuinely kind nature and a caring approach to helping participants with their day-to-day needs. This is a adaptable role for someone who takes pride in compassionate, respectful care.

What You’ll Be Doing (varies depending on each participant’s needs)

- Engaging children in play, activities and skill-building
- Companionship and social support
- Personal care, e.g. showering, dressing, mobility assistance
- Domestic assistance, e.g. light housekeeping, meal prep
- Community access, e.g. transport to appointments, outings, recreation
- Medication reminders and prompts




- Support tailored to each participant’s individual goals

The Role Involves

- Being physically active, including active play, outings, and assisting with lifting and transfers
- Communicating clearly and confidently with children and their families
- Reading and following care plans, and completing written shift notes and incident reports

What We’re Looking For

- A kind, patient and genuinely caring nature
- Fluent spoken and written English, to communicate with participants and families, follow care plans and respond in emergencies
- Confidence and enthusiasm working with children
- Experience with autism, children with disability or mental health is highly regarded
- Experience in support work or disability care is preferred but not essential; we welcome applicants willing to learn
- Reliable, punctual and trustworthy
- Current driver’s licence and own vehicle
- NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check and First Aid/CPR

We welcome applicants of all ages and backgrounds. Pay: $35.00 – $40.00 per hour
