Mechanical Fitter Apprentice - Banyo, QLD Kick-start your career in mechanical fitting and hydraulic engineering! MEGT is seeking a motivated and mechanically minded individual for an exciting Mechanical Fitter Apprenticeship with our host employer, Custom Fluidpower . This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a specialised hydraulic workshop, learn from experienced tradespeople and develop the practical skills needed to build a career in the mechanical trades.
About the Role As a Mechanical Fitter Apprentice, you'll develop your technical knowledge and practical skills while working alongside an experienced team. Your duties will include:
Assisting with the servicing, maintenance and repair of hydraulic cylinders, pumps, motors, valves and related components. Dismantling, inspecting and reassembling hydraulic and mechanical equipment to identify wear, faults and damaged components. Replacing seals, bearings and other components while learning to use precision measuring tools.
Learning to read and interpret engineering drawings, hydraulic schematics and technical specifications. Assisting with the manufacture and installation of hydraulic hoses and pipework. Maintaining a safe and organised work environment while completing your apprenticeship training requirements.
About You We're looking for someone who is eager to learn, enjoys practical work and is committed to developing a career in mechanical fitting.
Ideally, you'll bring: A reliable, punctual and positive attitude with a strong work ethic. A genuine interest in mechanical engineering, machinery and hands-on trade work.
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail. A willingness to learn, take direction and work as part of a team.
A commitment to completing your apprenticeship.
A current driver's licence. Previous experience in hydraulics or mechanical fitting, along with a genuine passion for the industry, would be advantageous but is not essential. What
