About the Role The City of Karratha is seeking a Technical Support Officer to join the team at the Red Earth Arts Precinct (REAP). This fixed term position is available immediately through to 24 December 2026 and plays a key role in supporting the delivery of events, performances and cinema operations.

Working closely with the Technical Supervisor, you'll help create exceptional experiences for artists, hirers, audiences and the wider community through professional technical support across a diverse program of events.

What You'll Be Doing

- Provide technical support for events, performances, functions and cinema screenings across REAP.
- Operate lighting, sound, audio visual and staging equipment for small to medium-sized events.
- Assist with cinema operations, including DCP and KDM management, content ingestion and playlist creation.




- Support event bump-ins and bump-outs while ensuring equipment is safely set up and packed down.
- Maintain a safe, organised and professional backstage and technical environment in accordance with WHS requirements.

What We're Looking For

- Experience in a live theatre, performing arts, entertainment venue or event production environment.
- Practical experience in one or more technical disciplines, including lighting, sound, staging, audio visual or equipment maintenance.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to support a diverse range of venue hirers and performers.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and manage competing priorities in a rapid-paced environment.
- Availability to work a flexible roster, including evenings and weekends, with a current C Class Driver's Licence.
