Major Technology Transformation ProgramYour new company An opportunity exists to join a high-profile technology transformation program within a large and complex national organisation. This program is delivering a significant upgrade of critical technology capabilities and requires an experienced commercial professional to provide contract management, supplier engagement and strategic commercial advice across a multi-vendor environment.
Your new role
As the Contracts & Commercial Specialist, you will play a key role supporting a major technology replacement program, managing complex contractual relationships and ensuring commercial outcomes are achieved throughout the program lifecycle. Working closely with program leadership, procurement, legal and key vendors, you will provide commercial guidance, lead negotiations, manage contract variations and support governance activities while identifying and mitigating commercial risks.
Key responsibilities will include
- Managing complex supplier and contractual relationships across a large-scale technology program.
- Providing commercial and contract management advice to program stakeholders.
- Negotiating contract variations, amendments and commercial outcomes.
- Assessing and managing commercial, financial and contractual risks.
- Supporting governance forums, executive reporting and decision-making processes.
- Conducting commercial due diligence and value-for-money assessments.
- Driving supplier performance and ensuring contract obligations are met.
- Developing commercial strategies to support successful program delivery.
- Working collaboratively with legal, finance, procurement and project teams to achieve program outcomes.
What you'll need to succeed
- Significant experience managing complex contracts and supplier relationships within large-scale technology programs.
- Previous experience working within Defence, aviation, critical infrastructure or similarly complex operational environments.
- Solid knowledge of Commonwealth Procurement Frameworks and Federal Government commercial practices.
- Proven ability to negotiate complex commercial outcomes and manage contract change processes.
- Experience providing commercial advice to senior executives and program leadership teams.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing and relationship management skills.
- Ability to identify, assess and mitigate commercial and contractual risks.
- Excellent written communication skills, including executive briefs, governance papers and commercial reporting.
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Law or a related discipline.
Federal Government procurement and commercial experience is essential.
