About the role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Trainer & Assessor to join Positive Training Academy on a contract basis at our Campbellfield, VIC campus. As a Trainer & Assessor, you will play a crucial role in delivering vocational training programmes and conducting competency assessments. This position is essential to our mission of providing learners with the knowledge, skills, and qualifications they need to excel in their chosen fields.

You will work directly with students across various vocational disciplines, combining engaging instruction with rigorous assessment practices to ensure learners achieve their full potential.

Key responsibilities

- Deliver engaging and interactive vocational training sessions to diverse cohorts of learners, utilising a variety of teaching methods and resources

- Conduct fair, valid and reliable competency assessments in accordance with training package requirements and relevant standards

- Provide constructive feedback to learners on their progress, identifying areas for improvement and celebrating achievements

- Maintain accurate and timely records of learner attendance, participation,



performance and assessment outcomes

- Liaise with industry partners and employers to ensure training content reflects current workplace practices and requirements

- Support learner progression and transition into employment or further study through careers guidance and mentorship

- Participate in ongoing professional development to maintain industry currency and teaching excellence

- Contribute to a positive learning environment that promotes inclusivity, respect and collaboration

What we're looking for

- Current or recent experience as a Trainer and Assessor in a vocational education setting or equivalent workplace training role

- Recognised vocational qualifications in your specialist teaching area, with demonstrated subject matter expertise

- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent qualification recognised for VET delivery in Australia)

- Sound knowledge of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and training package competency standards

- Demonstrated experience in conducting fair and valid assessments using a variety of assessment methods

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with learners, staff and industry partners





- Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development within the vocational education sector

- Experience working with diverse and sometimes disadvantaged learner cohorts is highly valued

- Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain) are preferred
