Arion Logistics
Leppington
If you are a proven all-rounder who can juggle priorities that change through the day, keep customers informed without being chased, and grow a site while holding it to a standard you set yourself, this site is yours to run — and you will need to hit the ground running.
The role in one paragraph
Arion Logistics is a third-party logistics business. Our Leppington warehouse has capacity for 6,500 locations, handles mainly ambient goods with a small amount of refrigerated, and serves around seven customers — a number that is growing. You will run the site: the floor, the team, the customers, the costs and the growth, with full autonomy and control. The biggest challenge in this role is managing priorities and conflicts as they come up through the day, while giving customers clear feedback and commentary on their freight. If that is where you do your best work, read on.
What you'll own
The site standard
- A well presented, clean and tidy warehouse
- A defined layout, with inbound and outbound lanes properly segregated
- Site compliance with food safety and quality standards, and with WHS
Operations
- Receiving, putaway, picking and dispatch
- Planning the day and setting daily tasks for the team
- Transport management and bookings
- Stock accuracy and stocktakes
- Equipment and forklifts
Customers and growth
- Account management and day-to-day customer relationships
- Following up and keeping customers informed, so service levels and satisfaction lift
- Business development — growing the site's customer base
Commercial management
- Owning the site's P&L;, including billing and site costs
Leading the team
- Lead a small team in a hybrid role: on the floor alongside them, and off the floor setting direction
- Rostering
- Drive quality, performance and accountability against the KPIs agreed with our customers
- Continuous improvement — find what isn't working and fix it
How you'll be measured
DIFOT, pick accuracy and inventory accuracy.
What we need from you
Non-negotiables
- Previous 3PL experience
- Previous WMS experience — Carton Cloud preferred. We use handheld scanners across the whole operation
- A solid inventory management background
- A background in business development and growth
- Forklift licence
- Strong relationship management with customers and other stakeholders
- Proven leadership
- Continuous improvement capability
Highly regarded
- A food background
- HR truck licence
This role probably isn't for you if you need a long settling-in period before you can run a site, you are not a proven all-rounder, you find it hard when priorities change through the day, or following up with customers isn't second nature to you.
What's on offer
• $120,000 – $140,000 + superannuation
- Full autonomy and control of the site — the chance to own it, create the standard and hold it
- Support from the General Manager, Operations
Your first 90 days
• Month 1: Learn the broader operation and build relationships with customers, suppliers and staff, with support from the General Manager, Operations.
- Month 2: Take ownership of specific roles.
- Month 3: Accountability for performance and full ownership of the site.
