Austech Illusions is a growing, locally owned manufacturing and fabrication business based in Midvale, WA. We're looking for a reliable and motivated Workshop General Hand to join our team.

We manufacture everything from heavy-duty trailers, firefighting equipment and pressure washer units through to custom steel fabrication and large metal art sculptures.

No two days are quite the same in our workshop, and we're looking for someone who enjoys practical work, knows their way around basic tools and takes pride in a job well done.

About the Role

You'll be working alongside our experienced tradespeople, assisting with a wide variety of manufacturing and fabrication jobs.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

- Cutting, grinding, drilling and preparing steel for fabrication
- Assisting tradespeople with welding and fabrication projects
- Helping manufacture and assemble heavy-duty licensed trailers
- Assembling firefighting skids, fire trailers and pressure washer units
- Preparing, cleaning and finishing fabricated steel components
- Using general workshop tools and equipment
- General workshop duties and keeping work areas clean and organised
- Learning new skills and getting involved in different projects

Who We're Looking For We're looking for someone practical, reliable and willing to get involved.

Ideally, you'll have:

- Some basic experience using grinders, drills, cutting equipment and general workshop tools
- A good understanding of working safely with tools and equipment
- A practical, hands-on approach to work
- A reliable attitude and good work ethic
- The ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- A willingness to learn current skills and take on different tasks




- An interest in steel fabrication, welding, mechanical work or manufacturing

You don't need to be a qualified tradesperson or have years of workshop experience. Experience working on cars, machinery, farm equipment, home projects or in a workshop would all be considered valuable.

We're happy to provide training to someone who already has some basic practical skills, a good attitude and a willingness to learn.
