The opportunity

Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, you will act as a commercial connector across the organisation, working closely with business unit leaders, commercial teams and executive team to identify, qualify & develop opportunities before transitioning them to the most appropriate business for delivery. Success will come from understanding the market, building influential relationships and translating ideas into tangible commercial outcomes.

Key responsibilities:

- Identify new customers, markets and strategic growth opportunities across the resources and infrastructure sectors

- Build trusted relationships with senior decision-makers, industry stakeholders, suppliers and strategic partners

- Connect customers with relevant capabilities across the HI Fraser Group portfolio

- Develop cross-business opportunities involving integrated products, services and technical solutions

- Assess new products, suppliers, partnerships and service offerings

- Gather and share customer, competitor and industry intelligence

- Identify market shifts, capability gaps and emerging customer requirements

- Develop commercial assessments and recommendations for strategic opportunities

- Work with business unit leaders to qualify,



progress and transition opportunities

- Represent HIFraser Group at industry conferences, exhibitions, customer forums and networking events

- Support the group's long-term commercial planning and market-development strategy

What you'll need to succeed

You are an experienced business development or commercial professional with a strong network and reputation within either Mining, Oil and gas, Infrastructure, Industrial / Engineering services or Technical solutions.

You will bring:

- Demonstrated success identifying and securing new business opportunities

- The ability to engage senior decision-makers and open doors within complex organisations

- Strong knowledge of resources, infrastructure or broader industrial markets

- An established understanding of major customers, contractors and supply chains

- Commercial acumen and the ability to assess the value and viability of an opportunity

- Strong stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills

- The credibility to work effectively with executives, customers and technical specialists

- A curious, entrepreneurial and opportunity-focused mindset

- The ability to work autonomously while creating alignment across multiple stakeholders

- A practical approach to converting market intelligence into commercial action
