Key Responsibilities
- Readandinterpretconstructiondrawings,plansandprojectspecifications
- Translatemeasurementsandtechnicalrequirementsintoaccuratecarpentrywork
- Measure,mark,cutandshapetimberandotherconstructionmaterials
- Buildandassemblewallframes,roofstructures,floorjoistsandsub-floorsystems
- Checkcompletedstructuresforaccuratealignment,level,plumbandsquare
- Installtimberdoorandwindowframes,wallcladding,fasciaandotherexternalcomponents
- Completetimberjoining,fastening,fittingandfinishingwork
- Installprefabricatedtimbercomponentsandmakeadjustmentswhererequired
- Carryoutcarpentryrepairs,alterationsandreplacementofdamagedtimber
- Constructanddismantletimberformworkforconcrete-relatedconstructionwork
- Operatecarpentryhandtools,powertoolsandrelevantequipmentsafely
- Maintainqualityworkmanshipwhilefollowingconstruction-sitesafetyrequirements
Requirements & Eligibility
- CertificateIIIinCarpentryoranequivalentrecognisedqualification
- Demonstratedpracticalexperienceinresidentialorcommercialconstruction
- Provenhands-onexperiencewithtimberframingandgeneralcarpentry
- Abilitytoaccuratelymeasure,cut,assembleandinstallconstructioncomponents
- Experienceworkingwithcarpentrytools,machineryandequipment
- Abilitytoconfidentlyreadconstructiondrawingsandspecifications
- Goodunderstandingofconstructionmethodsandsitepractices
