Experienced Dental Assistant – $34–$40/hr + Super

Alderley Dental is seeking an experienced and dependable Dental Assistant to join our friendly, longstanding team.

Full-time employment is preferred; however, experienced candidates seeking 3–4 permanent days per week are also encouraged to apply.

This position would suit a capable Dental Assistant who takes pride in excellent chairside support, anticipates what the dentist needs and helps patients feel calm and comfortable.

Alderley Dental is an independent, well-established practice that has served the local community for more than 30 years.

Our contemporary two-chair practice provides general and preventive dentistry as well as crowns and bridges, cosmetic treatment, surgical extractions, dental implants and complex rehabilitative care.

We have a close-knit team, with many team members having worked with us for between 5 and 20 years. We value professionalism, reliability, teamwork and genuine patient care.

Key responsibilities

- Providing efficient four-handed chairside assistance
- Preparing for general, restorative, crown and bridge, cosmetic, surgical and implant procedures
- Anticipating the dentist’s needs and maintaining an organised clinical workflow
- Reassuring nervous patients and communicating calmly and professionally
- Preparing surgeries and completing efficient room turnovers
- Following current infection-control, sterilisation and instrument-tracking procedures
- Assisting with charting, clinical documentation and laboratory cases
- Monitoring clinical materials, supplies and stock levels
- Helping the wider team keep the clinical day running smoothly

About you





You will ideally:

- Have recent chairside experience in an Australian dental practice
- Hold Certificate III in Dental Assisting, or have substantial equivalent experience
- Be confident assisting with restorative and crown and bridge procedures
- Have sound infection-control and sterilisation knowledge
- Remain calm, organised and attentive during busy or complex procedures
- Be dependable, punctual and interested in a stable, long-term position
- Communicate warmly and respectfully with patients and colleagues
- Take initiative and notice what needs to be done
- Work independently while contributing positively to a small team

Experience assisting with implants and surgical procedures is advantageous but not essential.
