n This NSW Government department plays a key role in delivering high-quality events across the state and is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to support its financial operations and reporting requirements.n

n This is a contract opportunity commencing ASAP and running until 27 February 2027, with solid potential for extension.n
n
n To be successful, you’ll be a qualified or part-qualified CPA or CA, with previous experience in a large corporate environment and hands-on experience using SAP. The role is based in Sydney CBD and offers hybrid working arrangements.n
n

The Jobn
n Reporting into the Senior Financial Accountant, in this Financial Accountant role, you will be responsible for:n
n

n
- Maintain accurate financial records, including journals, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations and general ledger transactions.
n
- Prepare financial reports, analysis and insights to support business decision-making.
n
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, NSW Treasury requirements and internal financial controls.
n
- Support audits, including audit requirement gathering,



preparation of audit documentation and annual financial statements.
n
- Liaise with Shared Services and internal stakeholders to resolve financial and system-related issues.
n

n Youn
n To be successful in this role, you must have experience in the following:n
n

n
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Financial Accountant role.
n
- CA/CPA qualified, or working towards full qualification.
n
- Previous experience using SAP ERP is essential.
n
- Strong accounting and auditing skills, including audit requirements gathering.
n
- Experience implementing and managing financial processes, including accounts payable.
n
- Experience managing procurement processes, contracts, purchase orders and financial milestones.
n
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
n
