Project Information
CEL-North is a $342 million Western Power transmission program, delivered by ACCIONA, building new lines and substations across Perth’s northern suburbs to unlock up to 1GW of new renewable energy. The project directly engages landowners, First Nations groups and local communities along the alignment as construction progresses.
About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Project Director, you will be ACCIONA’s day-to-day point of contact for landowners, community members, First Nations groups and government stakeholders on CEL-North. You will design and deliver engagement plans, handle public enquiries and complaints, and produce stakeholder notices, collateral and presentations. You will work closely with Western Power’s heritage team and traditional owner groups to support First Nations engagement, and direct endorsed community benefit initiatives that leave a lasting positive legacy.
It’s a highly visible, hands-on role with real influence over how the project is experienced by the community.
Key accountabilities for the position will be:
- Build trusted relationships with landowners, community and First Nations groups
- Develop and manage Community Stakeholder Engagement and First Nations Heritage plans
- Coordinate day-to-day engagement activities, public enquiries and complaints
- Direct endorsed community benefit initiatives that leave a lasting legacy
- Plan and deliver engagement forums, events and stakeholder campaigns
- Identify and resolve conflict, escalating issues where required
- Report on engagement progress and outcomes to project and client stakeholders
Required Skills and Competencies What capability and experience will you need to have:
- Degree in communications, social science, public policy or related field
- IAP2 Certificate of Engagement
- Current WA driver’s licence
- Minimum five years’ experience in community and social engagement programs
- Demonstrated experience engaging First Nations peoples and traditional owners respectfully
