D’Arcy Weil is recruiting an Associate / Senior Associate, Mining & Resources on behalf of a leading Australian law firm. Based in Brisbane or Perth, the role acts for mining and resources clients across all commodities, including:

- Advising miners and developers on tenure, exploration and development decisions through to production
- Structuring and completing equity, debt and convertible funding transactions
- Negotiating and documenting joint ventures and project agreements
- Advising on disputes arising under mining agreements, and enforcing rights where required
- Acting on the acquisition and disposal of mining assets, projects and companies

The role offers carriage of complex transactional and regulatory work across the full project lifecycle, with direct partner involvement and sustained client contact.

The Role

- Project lifecycle: Advise clients on the legal issues at each stage of a project, from tenure and exploration through to development and production
- Capital raising: Act on equity issues, debt facilities and convertible or other hybrid funding, from structuring through to completion
- Joint ventures and project agreements: Negotiate and document joint ventures and the supply, services and other contracts that support a mining project
- Disputes and enforcement: Advise on disputes arising under mining agreements and pursue enforcement action where a counterparty is in default
- Mergers and acquisitions: Act on the acquisition and disposal of mining assets,



projects and companies, including due diligence and completion
- Approvals and compliance: Advise on the regulatory approvals and compliance obligations that apply as each project progresses

About You

- Mining and resources, corporate or transactional experience at associate or senior associate level
- A record of running transactions with limited supervision
- Sharp drafting and negotiation skills
- Commercial judgement and robust client communication
- A genuine interest in the mining and resources sector
