Applications Specialist – Valves | Own the Brisbane branch of a global valve specialist
Our client is an established specialist in industrial valves and flow control. They supply and support customers in mining, oil and gas, water and process industries. They’re now looking for a technically strong Applications Specialist to be the face of their Brisbane operation.
Whether you’ve come up through a fitting or machining trade, cut your teeth in drafting, or studied engineering, what matters is your technical know-how and how you look after customers.
This is a true all-rounder role. You’ll own the full customer journey, from the first technical conversation and quote through to assembly, testing and getting the valve out the door. As the Brisbane site lead, you’ll also run the operations side, so you’ll see every part of how the business works.
You’ll be:
- Building and looking after relationships with a portfolio of industrial customers
- Preparing quotes and turning them into orders
- Handling order entry, price and delivery confirmations, and open order reviews
- Reading and interpreting specs, design standards, datasheets and parts manuals
- Producing 2D CAD drawings and designing small fittings, accessories and procedures
- Overseeing assembly, testing and repair assessments
- Running goods inwards, stock control, pick, pack and dispatch, and managing freight and courier partners
Who will you be working with?
You’ll report to the Operations Manager and work with a national team that backs you up remotely. Day to day you’ll have plenty of autonomy and the trust to run the Brisbane site your way. It suits someone who likes ownership and doesn’t need a manager over their shoulder.
What’s in it for you
- A competitive salary package
- Real ownership of a branch early in your career
- Exposure to technical sales, engineering and operations all in one role
- Support to get your forklift licence and first aid certificates
- A business that invests in learning and is responsible about its vision of a world without valve problems
What you’ll bring
- A degree, a trade qualification (fitting/machining is ideal), or equivalent industry experience
- 2-3 years in an engineering discipline or a technical industrial role
- Sales or customer service experience in an industrial setting (highly regarded)
- AutoCAD skills (essential). SolidWorks or similar is a bonus
- A solid understanding of safe work practices
- A forklift licence, or a willingness to get one
- Tenacity, sharp attention to detail and strong follow-up
- The confidence to work independently and the curiosity to keep learning
Ready to take the next step?
If you’re a fitter who’s moved into sales, a drafter who wants more customer contact, or an engineer who wants to see the whole commercial picture, we want to hear from you.
