We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting & Taxation Intern to join an established accounting and taxation practice based in Mulgrave, Melbourne.
This prospect is ideal for Accounting, Finance or Commerce students and recent graduates looking to gain practical Australian industry experience in taxation, bookkeeping, financial reporting, BAS/GST and accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities

- Assist with bookkeeping and general accounting tasks
- Support the preparation of individual and business tax returns under supervision
- Assist with BAS, GST and financial documentation
- Perform bank reconciliations and maintain financial records
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Assist with financial statements and working papers
- Gain exposure to Australian taxation requirements and ATO procedures
- Support client file management and accounting administration
- Assist with accounting software such as Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks

Skills & Requirements

- Currently studying or recently completed Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related qualification
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Interest in Australian taxation and compliance
- Good Microsoft Excel skills
- Familiarity with Xero,



MYOB or QuickBooks is advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Professional approach to handling confidential financial information

Previous accounting experience is advantageous but not essential.
