Draslovka is a global chemical technologies company with over 100 years of experience, operating across six continents. Through Mining Process Solutions (MPS), we are commercialising Glycine Leaching Technology (GLT), our proprietary alternative leaching reagent for the mining industry, extending its reach into new commodities and operating contexts worldwide.
The Role
We are seeking an Innovation Manager to lead innovation for our GLT business. Reporting to the Technology Manager: Innovation and Development, and based in Perth, this role owns the GLT technology pipeline end to end — from opportunity identification and laboratory testwork through to piloting, plant trials and commercialisation — working with customer-facing teams to resolve field issues and feed learnings back into development.
What You’ll Do
- Define and own the GLT innovation strategy and a prioritised pipeline of current applications, commodities, ore types and flowsheet improvements
- Own the design, execution and integrity of laboratory and bench-scale testwork programmes
- Build techno-economic evaluations and present evidence-based recommendations at gate reviews
- Build and lead a multi-disciplinary team spanning metallurgy, chemistry, laboratory testwork, molecular modelling and engineering
- Oversee invention capture and support patent filing with Legal and external attorneys
- Hand validated concepts to piloting and commercialisation,
and work with customer-facing teams to resolve issues arising in the field
- Draft and manage the annual innovation budget
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering, Extractive Metallurgy or Chemistry; postgraduate qualification in hydrometallurgy is a plus
- 10+ years’ relevant experience, including managing technical or research teams
- Hydrometallurgical experience in leaching of base and/or precious metals; experience with non-cyanide lixiviants an advantage
- Proven track record taking technical concepts from idea through proof of concept, piloting and commercialisation
- Experience owning a research or development budget and applying classical/agile project management
- Experience with invention capture, patent filing, and collaboration with universities or research institutions is an advantage
