Senior Tax Accountant / SMSF Accountant

Part-Time or Full-Time | Flexible Hours

We are currently seeking an experienced and qualified Senior Tax Accountant / SMSF Accountant to join a well-established small to medium-sized practice. This opportunity is open to both part-time and full-time applicants and offers excellent long-term career growth, flexibility, and ongoing professional development.

About the Role

This is a senior-level opportunity suited to an accounting professional with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and regulations, along with proven experience working in a public practice workplace. You will be confident working independently, preparing tax returns and financial reports, and managing a broad portfolio across individuals, companies, partnerships, trusts, and SMSFs.

To be successful in this role, you must be:

- A fully qualified CPA or CA (mandatory)
- A registered tax agent
- Experienced in a small to medium-sized accounting practice
- Equipped with a minimum of 4 years' post-graduate experience

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare Income Tax Returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, and companies
- Prepare Financial Statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards
- Prepare Financial Statements and Annual Returns for SMSFs
- Liaise directly with clients and the ATO
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and key stakeholders




- Manage work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment

Skills & Experience

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:

- Strong experience using Class Super (essential)
- Experience with MYOB AO & XPM
- Proficiency in MYOB, QuickBooks, and Xero (essential)
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and client relationship management abilities
- A high level of customer service
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure
- Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and time management skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
