Safer Care Victoria

Melbourne

The Department of Health plays a critical role in the Victorian health system and is responsible for shaping it to meet the health needs of all Victorians. We’re focused on
supporting Victorians to be as healthy as they can; whether through alerting them to seasonal risks like thunderstorm asthma, notifying them of contact with
communicable diseases, safeguarding their drinking water, developing the best health, wellbeing and care facilities in the world, being at the forefront of mental health and
wellbeing treatment or accelerating medical research. It’s all part of the way we partner with the community to help every individual lead a healthy life.

About the role:

The System Insights Officer supports the identification, analysis and communication of emerging themes, trends, risks and opportunities across Safer Care Victoria (SCV).

The role brings together quantitative and qualitative information from a range of organisational sources to identify patterns, monitor emerging issues and support the development of evidence-informed insights. The System Insights Officer contributes to the timely collection, synthesis and interpretation of information to assist decision-making, strategic planning and organisational awareness.

Working collaboratively with stakeholders across SCV, the role supports the coordination of information, preparation of reports and briefings, and monitoring of actions arising from identified themes and issues. The position contributes to a consistent and connected approach to understanding organisational priorities, emerging risks and system-wide challenges.

Reporting to the Manager, Clinical Governance and System Insights, and working closely with the Senior System Insights Officer, the role supports the collection, analysis and synthesis of information from across SCV to identify emerging themes, trends, risks and opportunities. The role contributes to the development of organisational insights through research, environmental scanning, reporting and stakeholder engagement.

Working collaboratively across SCV, the position supports evidence-informed decision-making, organisational awareness and the monitoring of emerging issues affecting the Victorian health system.
