Our client, a major NSW public-sector organisation, is seeking an experienced Lead Business Intelligence (BI) Designer to lead a team of SQL Developers delivering complex business intelligence solutions and reporting capability.Role Description
This role combines technical leadership, solution design and team management, ensuring BI solutions align with business requirements, industry best practice and organisational technology standards.
You will lead the design and delivery of enterprise reporting and visual analytics solutions, working with technical teams and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable and reliable data-driven outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the design and delivery of BI solutions, including dashboards, scorecards, reports and visual analytics products.
- Review Microsoft BI designs and data integrations to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, reliable and fit for purpose.
- Provide technical leadership, advice and guidance to a team of SQL Developers.
- Interpret business requirements and translate them into technical designs, reporting specifications, database queries and analytical solutions.
- Establish and maintain BI design standards, documentation, delivery practices and risk management processes.
- Drive continuous improvement in BI capability, technical practices and service delivery.




- Build effective relationships with stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business needs.
- Support team performance, professional development and a team-oriented, customer-focused working environment.

Essential Experience and Skills

- Strong experience in Microsoft BI technologies and SQL development.
- Demonstrated experience designing and delivering complex business intelligence and enterprise reporting solutions.
- Experience developing dashboards, scorecards, reports and visual analytics products.
- Understanding of data integration, enterprise data platforms, security, scalability and reliability.
- Proven ability to provide technical leadership, mentor developers and establish consistent technical standards.
- Experience translating business requirements into technical specifications and practical BI solutions.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and problem-solving skills.

- Daily rate: $850–$1,100
