THE CAREER MEISTER
Melbourne
About This Position
Are you a warehouse operations leader who enjoys being on the floor, developing people and fixing problems at the source?
Our client, an established logistics services provider, is expanding its operations and has created a new Senior Manager – Operations position to lead the day-to-day operations of a dedicated 3PL warehouse account in Melbourne’s west.
The site has approximately 24 full-time equivalent staff across morning and afternoon shifts. Reporting to the National Logistics Manager and the Warehouse Manager, you will oversee the full workflow, from receiving and inventory control through to picking, packing, e-commerce fulfilment and dispatch.
You will be expected to step in on the floor when needed. Most of your impact, however, will come from the supervisors you develop, the routines you put in place and the improvements that last.

A little about you
Busy warehouses don’t faze you. On any given day, you might walk the floor with a supervisor, review performance figures and make decisions when something doesn’t go to plan.
Hitting today’s targets matters, but so does the team you build: people who can solve problems without waiting for you, and processes that stop the same issues from coming back.
That mix of hands-on leadership and the bigger picture of service performance, productivity and continuous improvement is where you do your best work.

Career Meister’s View
What stands out about this role is the combination: hands-on management of a dedicated warehouse operation, direct client contact and responsibility for developing the supervisors and team leaders who keep things running.
We think it will suit an experienced Operations Manager or senior warehouse leader who is still close to the floor and ready to take on more responsibility for client relationships, team development and continuous improvement.
Some days will be about numbers and client reviews. Others will be about sorting out problems on the floor and backing your people when things go wrong.
If you want a role where your experience shows up in both the team and the results, we’d like to hear from you.
