Mechanical Fitter Apprentice - Banyo, QLD

MEGT is seeking a motivated and mechanically minded individual for an exciting Mechanical Fitter Apprenticeship with our host employer, Custom Fluidpower.
This is an excellent prospect to gain hands-on experience in a specialised hydraulic workshop, learn from experienced tradespeople and develop the practical skills needed to build a career in the mechanical trades.
About the Role
As a Mechanical Fitter Apprentice, you'll develop your technical knowledge and practical skills while working alongside an experienced team. Your duties will include:
- Assisting with the servicing, maintenance and repair of hydraulic cylinders, pumps, motors, valves and related components.
- Dismantling, inspecting and reassembling hydraulic and mechanical equipment to identify wear, faults and damaged components.
- Replacing seals, bearings and other components while learning to use precision measuring tools.
- Learning to read and interpret engineering drawings, hydraulic schematics and technical specifications.
- Assisting with the manufacture and installation of hydraulic hoses and pipework.
- Maintaining a safe and organised work environment while completing your apprenticeship training requirements.
About You
We're looking for someone who is eager to learn, enjoys practical work and is committed to developing a career in mechanical fitting.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- A reliable, punctual and positive attitude with a strong work ethic.
- A genuine interest in mechanical engineering, machinery and hands-on trade work.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- A willingness to learn, take direction and work as part of a team.
- A commitment to completing your apprenticeship.
- A current driver's licence.
Previous experience in hydraulics or mechanical fitting, along with a genuine passion for the industry, would be advantageous but is not essential.
