Safer Care Victoria
Melbourne
The Department of Health plays a critical role in the Victorian health system and is responsible for shaping it to meet the health needs of all Victorians. We’re focused on
supporting Victorians to be as healthy as they can; whether through alerting them to seasonal risks like thunderstorm asthma, notifying them of contact with
communicable diseases, safeguarding their drinking water, developing the best health, wellbeing and care facilities in the world, being at the forefront of mental health and
wellbeing treatment or accelerating medical research. It’s all part of the way we partner with the community to help every individual lead a healthy life.
About the role:
The Senior System Insights Officer works within the Clinical Governance and System Insights team of the Safety Branch to identify, synthesise and translate information from across Safer Care Victoria (SCV) into actionable insights that support SCV's organisational priorities and contribute to the delivery of high-quality care for all Victorians. The role brings together quantitative and qualitative information from multiple sources across SCV to identify emerging themes, trends, risks, opportunities and systemic issues. Through the application of systems thinking and critical analysis, the role develops meaningful insights that inform strategic decision-making, support delivery of the SCV Strategic Plan and strengthen the organisation's awareness of emerging and enduring issues across the health system.
Reporting to the Manager, Clinical Governance and System Insights, the position works to ensure information, insights and actions are connected, enabling a more informed, proactive and strategically aligned approach to improving outcomes across the Victorian health system. The role supports the strengthening of clinical governance across the Victorian health system through the identification of emerging issues, risks and opportunities that inform continuous improvement across the five domains of the Victorian Clinical Governance Framework.
Working collaboratively across branches and programs,
the Senior System Insights Officer leads the interpretation and translation of organisational information into system insights that inform decision-making, organisational priorities and clinical governance across SCV and the Victorian health system. Applying systems thinking and critical analysis, the role identifies emerging risks, opportunities and system-wide issues, providing strategic advice and actionable insights that support organisational priorities and safer care outcomes for Victorians.
