Banking & Finance Lawyer | Project & Structured Finance | Sydney
I'm recruiting for a leading top-tier Australian firm looking to appoint a Banking & Finance lawyer to its Project & Structured Finance practice in Sydney.
The team is involved in financing major infrastructure and energy projects across Australia, acting for lenders, borrowers and sponsors on transactions that often involve substantial investment and complex financing arrangements.
It's a solid opportunity for a finance lawyer who enjoys transactional work and wants to build expertise in the infrastructure and energy sectors.
The practice covers a particularly interesting range of work, including:
- Infrastructure and project finance
- Renewable energy and energy transition projects
- Public-private partnerships
- Acquisition and leveraged finance
- Holdco financing and corporate debt structures
- Social housing and other essential infrastructure projects
You'll gain experience across different stages of a transaction,
from initial structuring and negotiations through to financial close.
The team offers direct Partner involvement, hands-on mentoring and opportunities to work closely with clients. There's also exposure to both lender-side and sponsor-side transactions, which is valuable experience for someone developing their career in finance.
The firm is particularly interested in lawyers with approximately 2–4 years' PAE from a Banking & Finance background. Existing project finance or structured finance experience would be advantageous.
I'd also be interested in speaking with Australian lawyers currently in London who have relevant finance experience and are considering a move home.
If you'd like to learn more about the team, its current pipeline of work and the opportunities for progression, feel free to get in touch.
