Project Overview:

The Eva Copper Mine Project is a greenfield resource poised to become the largest new mine in Queensland, Australia. It is located in Cloncurry on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon people. The Project is owned by Harmony, a world-class gold and copper mining and development company with assets in South Africa, Australia, and Papua Recent Guinea.

Bechtel is delivering the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) scope for the Eva Copper Process Plant and Non-Process Infrastructure. Bechtel is providing these EPC services across all disciplines and functions for this exciting capital project.

Job Summary:

Piping Discipline Field Engineer reports to Lead Piping Field Engineer and is responsible for activities relating to construction engineering within the piping and pipe testing disciplines. Duties include technical oversight and mentoring of Piping FE, interpreting piping design drawings and specifications, piping installation/fabrication including pipe hangers and inline piping components, field verification of materials, and technical direction to field piping personnel as required.

Piping Field Engineer is responsible for activities relating to construction engineering within the piping discipline.





In this role, you will support construction Superintendents develop work scope packages and cost estimates for a project’s piping aspects.

Major Responsibilities:

- Coordinate with engineering on constructability and design issues relating to the piping discipline for underground and above ground piping installation and pipe supports
- Prepare, maintain and update IWPs through TeamWorks and Book Builder, ensuring package readiness and schedule compliance
- Manage Design/Engineering/Construction interface, including RFIs and FDCs
- Specify the piping criteria for the construction of temporary construction facilities as required
- Manage the request and distribution of construction materials to the field
- Develop and manage piping construction quality documentation
- Develop and recommend piping installation procedures with Field Supervision to ensure construction operations are within requirements of engineering design and specifications
- Coordinate activities to ensure piping materials, equipment and quality comply with design plans and specifications
- Assist with development and execution of pressure test packs
- Quantity and progress reporting to Project Controls

Education and Experience Requirements:

- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

- Knowledge of modularization of piping and pipe racks, above ground & below ground piping systems and line testing preferred.
- Knowledge of Bechtel’s Zero Accident Philosophy.
- Knowledge of the Project ES&H; Handbook, the Supervisors ES&H; Manual, the Project Safety Management Plan and the Bechtel Core Processes.
- Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field activities.
- Knowledge of Standard Work Process Procedures (SWPPs).
- Computer literate in word processing,



spreadsheet and database applications in accordance with current Bechtel Standard Application Program (BSAP) standards.
- Demonstrated leadership in a team-based environment.
- Knowledge of the use of subcontracts, and the contractor and subcontractor’s responsibilities contained in subcontract documents.
- Experience working with, supervising and administering subcontractors and/or Direct Hire workforce.
- Knowledge is normally acquired through: A recognized degree in an engineering or scientific discipline, or Specialized courses in construction technology and management, and/or Prior practical work experience leading to a thorough understanding of the knowledge described above
