We’re looking for an experienced Maintenance Planner to join our Port Kembla team and take ownership of planned maintenance activities across our Tonnage production facilities.

Based at our Port Kembla production facility, you’ll play a key role in ensuring electrical, mechanical and instrumentation equipment is maintained safely, effectively and cost-efficiently. You’ll coordinate maintenance plans, resources, contractors, parts and systems while continuously looking for opportunities to improve reliability, safety and maintenance performance.

What you’ll be doing

- Develop, maintain and continuously improve planned maintenance schedules across electrical, mechanical and instrumentation equipment.
- Plan and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities, including labour, contractors, parts and associated administration.
- Maintain accurate maintenance plans and records within the MEX maintenance management system.
- Develop achievable maintenance plans that balance safety, operational and commercial requirements.
- Coordinate Coregas trades,

third-party contractors and specialist resources to deliver maintenance activities.
- Drive continuous improvement across maintenance safety, quality, reliability and cost.
- Support Safe Work Systems, including preparation of permits and JSAs where required.
- Coordinate unplanned and breakdown maintenance when required.
- Provide support for maintenance and engineering projects.
- Support effective maintenance planning across Port Kembla, Mackay, Darra and Erskine Park Tonnage facilities.

What you’ll bring

You’ll be an experienced maintenance professional who understands the challenges of planning work in a complex operational environment.

Ideally, you will have:

- 5+ years’ experience planning multidisciplinary maintenance activities in an industrial workplace.
- A strong understanding of safe maintenance work practices.
- Formal Mechanical or Electrical Trade qualifications, or a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Reliability Engineering, preferred.
- Experience using maintenance planning/CMMS systems, ideally MEX.
- Proven project management capability.
- Experience with risk assessment and root cause analysis.
- A track record of supporting continuous improvement and change.
- Strong planning, coordination and stakeholder management skills.

The environment

This is not a desk-only planning role. You’ll be based at our Port Kembla production facility within the steelworks complex, working closely with operations, trades, contractors and specialist personnel.

The site operates in a 24/7 heavy industrial environment and includes cryogenic air separation,

nitrogen liquefaction, hydrogen production, compressors, bulk liquid storage, high-voltage and low-voltage electrical infrastructure, and associated maintenance facilities.

It’s an opportunity to work across diverse plant and equipment while having genuine influence over how maintenance is planned and continuously improved.
