As we enter our next phase of growth, our finance team is modernizing how accounting operates. We don't just want someone to balance the ledger, we are looking for a forward-thinking Financial Accountant to be a catalyst for workflow automation, data integrity, and smarter reporting.

The Role

Reporting directly to our Financial Controller, you will take ownership of day-to-day core financial accounting and transactional workflows while actively partnering with leadership to transform finance operations.

Our Financial Controller is deeply passionate about AI and emerging tech, creating a rare opportunity: you will have the mandate and support to explore, pilot, and deploy AI tools, automated workflows, and advanced reporting mechanisms across our financial stack.

Key Responsibilities

- Core Accounting & Month-End: Support the transactional finance team with AP/AR workflows and manage the month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, tax and statutory compliance.
- AI & Workflow Automation: Identify repetitive, manual accounting tasks and leverage AI/automation tools (e.g., prompt workflows, Python/scripts, Zapier/Make, or native AI add-ons) to streamline processes and elevate reporting.
- Up-skilling & Collaboration: Partner closely with the Financial Controller to share insights, evaluate current AI platforms, and foster a tech-forward culture across the finance function.
- Systems & Data Integrity:



Champion data hygiene and synchronisation across Xero, our CRM, and billing platforms to ensure revenue recognition and transactional records are accurate and auditable.
- Modern Reporting & Analytics: Develop actionable financial dashboards, variance analyses, and management reports that deliver real-time business visibility.

The Perfect Profile (you don't need to meet all criteria):

- Qualifications: CA / CPA qualified (or actively progressing toward completion) with 3+ years of relevant accounting experience, ideally within tech, SaaS, or high-growth environments.
- Systems Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Xero and modern CRM ecosystems (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce).
- AI & Automation Mindset: Practical experience using, or a demonstrated passion for testing and implementing, AI tools, automation platforms, or modern BI software to eliminate manual processes.
- Data-Driven Attention to Detail: Proven track record in auditing, reconciling, and cleaning up datasets across integrated business systems.
- Commercial Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical workflows and financial insights clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
