Robert Half is partnering with a well-established and growing organisation to recruit an experienced Senior Financial Accountant for a contract opportunity based in Sydney CBD. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong finance professional to join a high-performing team and play a key role in financial reporting, compliance, and business support.

We're looking for a CA/CPA qualified accountant with 5+ years' financial accounting experience. The successful candidate will be hands-on, commercially minded, and confident working with senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Finance Manager, key duties will include:

- Preparation of monthly financial and management reports
- Leading month-end and year-end close activities
- Balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger oversight
- Statutory reporting, including BAS, GST and compliance requirements
- Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow analysis
- Variance analysis and financial performance reporting
- Fixed asset accounting and asset register management
- Supporting internal and external audit processes
- Ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and internal controls
- Identifying and implementing process improvements
- Partnering with operational leaders and senior stakeholders across the business

About You

To be considered, you will have:

- CA or CPA qualification
- 5+ years' experience in Financial Accounting or Senior Financial Accounting roles
- Strong technical accounting and statutory reporting knowledge




- Advanced Excel skills and exposure to ERP systems
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment
- Immediate or short-notice availability highly regarded
