The opportunity

We're seeking two motivated Sports Team Members to join our Open Space team. In this hands-on outdoor role, you'll contribute to the presentation, safety and playability of Council's sports grounds and facilities across the municipality.

Working as part of a supportive team, you'll undertake a variety of turf and grounds maintenance activities, assist with preparing sporting facilities for community use, and help ensure our sports fields remain in excellent condition throughout the year. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical outdoor work, takes pride in delivering high-quality outcomes, and values being part of a collaborative team environment.

What you’ll be doing

- Undertake routine and reactive maintenance of sports grounds and surrounding areas.
- Assist with turf management programs, irrigation activities, line marking and event set-up.
- Operate and maintain plant, machinery and equipment safely and effectively.
- Identify, report and address hazards and maintenance issues.
- Provide responsive and professional service to sporting clubs, community members and colleagues.

What you'll need to succeed





- A Certificate III in Sports Turf Management, Horticulture or significant relevant industry experience.
- Experience in sports turf, parks, gardens, grounds or open space maintenance.
- Demonstrated ability to operate mowers, tractors and other relevant plant and equipment.
- A commitment to workplace health and safety practices.
- Strong teamwork, communication and customer service skills.
- A reliable, proactive and positive approach to work.

Pre-Employment Requirements

Progressed candidates will be required to complete a National Police Record Check, a Pre-Employment Medical Check & a Working With Children Check (WWCC). Candidates must also hold a valid Victorian Driver's License.
