Operations Manager

Kenviro are a leading Perth based Geosynthetics and Geomembrane supplier and installer. Supplying and installing HDPE liners and various other geosynthetic liners across a wide range of industry applications.

Kenviro are seeking a senior leader to manage day to day operations from our Perth base. The role is expected to maintain full oversight of operational, financial, HSE, quality and project performance.

Highly suited to a Senior PE / PM looking to seek further advancement into a niche industry that supports Mining, Civil Engineering and Waste Industries.

The Operations Manager is Kenviro’s senior operational leader, with full responsibility and accountability for day-to-day delivery of the company’s geomembrane, geosynthetic and environmental containment operations. The role independently plans, resources, mobilises, executes and closes out projects safely, efficiently, to specification and profitably.

Key responsibilities

· Operations and project delivery: Direct all current and upcoming projects from tender handover and award through planning, mobilisation, installation, completion and close-out.

· Workforce leadership: Lead and hold Supervisors, Leading Hands and lining personnel accountable for safety, quality, conduct, productivity and results. Allocate competent personnel, provide effective supervision, manage rosters, utilisation, performance, recruitment input, training, inductions, mentoring, succession and disciplinary matters within authority.

· Resourcing and mobilisation: Maintain forward labour, plant and project capacity plans; resolve competing demands; coordinate site readiness, mobilisation/demobilisation, travel, accommodation, vehicles,



documentation and competent crews with administration.

· Plant, equipment and logistics: Control deployment, location, utilisation, inspection, servicing, repairs, testing/tagging and replacement of welders, generators, vehicles, tools and other assets. Manage transport, hires, equipment reliability, damage, misuse and avoidable costs.

· Procurement and materials: Forecast and procure compliant geomembranes, geotextiles, geocomposites and associated materials; review quotations, purchase orders and supplier delivery/performance; control stock, wastage, critical supply risks and purchasing within approved limits.

· Commercial management: Monitor expenditure, project budgets, margins, labour productivity, cost-to-complete, equipment, travel, accommodation, materials and subcontractor costs. Identify and substantiate variations, scope changes, progress claims and commercial risks; intervene promptly to protect project profitability.

· Health, safety and workplace: Lead implementation of Kenviro’s HSE system and compliance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 (WA), applicable regulations and client/site requirements.

· Quality and technical delivery: Ensure compliance with project specifications, ITPs, approved installation/welding methods and QA/QC requirements.





· Clients, tenders and stakeholders: Serve as senior operational client contact; manage meetings, issues, disputes, supplier/subcontractor relationships and client satisfaction. Support tenders with scope, programme, methodology, productivity, equipment, remote roster and delivery-risk reviews.

· Systems and improvement: Implement company policies and operating systems; conduct operational reviews and lessons learned; standardise planning/reporting, improve communication, productivity and asset utilisation, reduce downtime/waste, and implement preventive and corrective improvements.

· Management reporting.

Qualifications, experience and competencies

Essential: substantial construction, mining, civil or specialist contracting operations experience; proven multi-project leadership, project delivery, workforce/resource planning, cost and margin control, HSE/quality management, client engagement, communication, computer literacy (Microsoft Office, A-CAD and project systems), sound judgement and independent decision-making; current driver’s license and willingness to visit remote WA sites.

Desirable: relevant Civil Engineering, Construction or Project Management qualification; senior operational/project management experience; WA mining/remote projects; geomembrane/HDPE lining and containment knowledge; contract administration, QA/QC, MDR and WA WHS expertise. Specialist lining expertise a distinct advantage, however may be developed through Kenviro training. Must demonstrate ownership, delegation, problem-solving, integrity, accountability and continuous improvement.
