The District Council of Yankalilla has an exciting opportunity within the Operations Team as a Town Maintenance Team Member. This role undertakes maintenance of the town’s facilities and construction of the Council’s infrastructure, working in a strong team environment to deliver services to the community.

We're seeking someone who enjoys hands-on work and wants to contribute to the upkeep and development of our community’s essential facilities. Picture yourself ensuring that our roads, bridges, and public spaces are safe and well-maintained, making a lasting impact on the town’s functionality and appeal.

Responsibilities include:

- Performing manual labour including the operation of small plant or hand tools

- Operating plant and machinery

- Minor building maintenance

- Undertaking maintenance, safety assessments, and cleaning functions in town streets, reserves, public facilities, parks, and recreation grounds

- Performing minor work on roads, drainage, and bridges

Key requirements:

- A solid preference will be given to applicants with qualifications in carpentry, plumbing, tiling, or similar trade backgrounds.

- Sound knowledge and understanding of the construction industry





- Demonstrated ability in the safe and efficient operation of plant/equipment and hand tools

- Industry knowledge in carpentry, plumbing, civil construction, and horticulture

- Ability to achieve certification/accreditation in the operation of appropriate plant and equipment relative to the role

- Flexible work approach and a team player

- Solid customer service focus and community-minded

- Valid driver’s licence
