This is a unique opportunity to strengthen the connection between clinical priorities, service planning and performance and ensure the sustainable delivery of high-quality paediatric care for children and young people across Western Australia.
A key focus of the role is to strengthen the Directorate’s capacity to plan for the future, ensuring the Directorate is well positioned to meet evolving clinical needs and deliver on CAHS, state and national priorities.

You will lead a team of Program Managers to partner with clinical departments in driving sustainable improvements with a focus on activity-based funding, service planning, performance improvement and the development of innovative models of care.
Your ability to engage with senior clinical and executive stakeholders, influence decisions, challenge existing approaches constructively and lead change in a complex service environment will be key to success in this role.
Key responsibilities include
- Leading and coordinating complex, interrelated programs and projects, ensuring alignment with Directorate priorities, effective governance and delivery within agreed timeframes and resources.
- Identifying opportunities for service redesign, alternative models of care and more sustainable approaches to delivering paediatric health services.
- Building productive relationships across clinical departments, executive teams and broader health system stakeholders to strengthen collaboration, support change and deliver shared outcomes.
- Providing strategic oversight of budgets, workforce profiles and resource allocation, supporting responsible financial management and effective use of available resources.
- Ensuring appropriate strategic, operational and risk management plans are in place, with effective performance monitoring and timely escalation of significant risks.
- Overseeing the preparation of complex business cases and provide evidence-based advice to inform investment, service development and strategic decision-making.
- Championing a culture of accountability, innovation, quality improvement and achievement across the Medicine Directorate.
- Building and maintaining strategic partnerships across health services, universities and other organisations to support system-wide consistency, cooperation and advance education,
