Logistics Supervisor – Port Hedland Air Freight

Why this role?
At Port Hedland Air Freight, we’re the sole freight handling agent at Port Hedland International Airport, a RACA-accredited business with 39 years of history and a loyal customer base across Port Hedland, Newman and Perth. We’re small, close-knit and growing, and we’re looking for a hands-on Logistics Supervisor to help drive that growth.

You’ll work directly with our Operations Manager as the engine room of the daily operation. You’ll keep freight moving, keep customers ahead of the curve and set the standard for the team on the floor. No two days are the same. One minute you’re planning the day’s runs, the next you’re sorting a customer query, scanning freight or jumping in a vehicle to get an urgent hot shot out the door.

No air freight experience? That’s fine. If you’ve got solid road freight or logistics grounding and you pick things up fast, we’ll teach you the airside and fund the tickets and training to get you there.

What you’ll do

- Plan and coordinate daily air and road freight movements to hit customer cut-offs and service levels

- Track consignments end to end, spot delays early and keep customers informed before they need to ask

- Make sure freight is scanned, labelled, manifested and documented correctly, with clean chain-of-custody records

- Lead, roster and coach a small team, including inducting and training new starters

- Watch freight flow and workload across the shift and flag bottlenecks before they bite

- Be the go-to contact for airlines, subcontractors, transport partners and customers when something needs fixing

- Keep run sheets,



records and reporting accurate in our systems and Microsoft 365

- Get behind the wheel for the occasional hot shot or urgent delivery when the job calls for it

What you’ll bring

- Experience in road freight, transport, logistics or depot operations

- Experience supervising or leading a small team, or real readiness to step up

- Confidence with computers and Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Teams)

- Experience with parcel scanning, freight management systems or similar software

- Strong organisation and a cool head under time pressure

- A friendly, customer-first attitude and a willingness to roll your sleeves up

- Current WA C class driver’s licence

- Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance and an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)

- Right to work in Australia

Bonus points for

- Air freight, airline cargo handling or RACA / aviation security experience

- Dangerous Goods (DG) awareness or certification

- Forklift licence (HRWL LF) or HR/MR driver’s licence

- Experience working with mining, resources or industrial clients
