We are looking for another short order cook to work with our current Cook, Café Manager and front-of-house team. You'll help keep our kitchen running smoothly while delivering consistently well-prepared breakfast and lunch dishes.
Key responsibilities
- Preparing and cooking breakfast and lunch menu items
- Short order cooking during busy service periods
- Food preparation and mise en place
- Maintaining consistent portioning, presentation and food quality
- Monitoring cooking times and food quality during service
- Following food safety, hygiene and temperature-control requirements
- Maintaining a clean, organised and productive kitchen
- Stock rotation and correct food storage
- Assisting with stock levels and deliveries
- Completing kitchen opening and closing procedures
About you
- Previous experience in a café, restaurant or commercial kitchen
- Short order cooking experience
- Experience preparing breakfast and lunch dishes
- Sound food preparation and cooking skills
- Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements
- The ability to remain organised and efficient during busy service periods
- High standards of food quality, presentation and kitchen cleanliness
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Reliability and punctuality
- Availability to work weekends as required
