QB Care Disability Support Services
Noarlunga Centre
Noarlunga & Southern Suburbs | Day & Passive Night Opportunities
QB Care is looking for experienced female Disability Support Workers to join our Supported Independent Living (SIL) teams across Adelaide’s southern suburbs.
We’re looking for support workers who take pride in providing consistent, thoughtful and person-centred support. These roles would suit experienced workers who understand that successful SIL support is not just about completing tasks. It’s about getting to know the person, understanding their routines, noticing the little things, following established support plans and working consistently as part of a wider team.
Due to the personal care requirements and preferences of the participants supported within these roles, these positions are for female support workers.
About the opportunities
We are recruiting experienced support workers interested in:
- Day and evening shifts
- Passive night shifts
- A combination of daytime and passive night work, where suitable
For workers interested primarily in passive night shifts, some initial daytime availability will be required. This allows you to spend time supporting the participant during their usual routine, establish rapport, become familiar with the home and learn participant-specific support requirements before working passive nights.
We want workers who genuinely understand the importance of consistency in a SIL environment and are willing to invest time in learning how each participant prefers to be supported.
What we're looking for
We’re particularly interested in applicants who:
- Have previous experience working within Supported Independent Living (SIL) environments
- Are dedicated, reliable and consistent in their approach
- Have strong attention to detail
- Understand the importance of following participant routines, support plans and established procedures
- Can provide personal care respectfully and with dignity
- Recognise changes, raise concerns appropriately and communicate important information to the team
- Complete clear, accurate and timely documentation
- Work well independently while remaining part of a broader support team
- Understand skilled boundaries and the importance of maintaining participant choice and control
- Are receptive to feedback, training and ongoing development
- Are willing to learn participant-specific routines rather than assuming that the same approach works for everyone
- Bring a calm, respectful and professional approach to their work
Why join QB Care?
We want our support workers to feel prepared and supported to do their job well.
At QB Care, you can expect:
Structured support and onboarding
You’ll be introduced to the people, environment, routines and expectations of the role rather than simply being placed into unfamiliar supports.
Dedicated site leadership
Our SIL sites have dedicated Team Leader support, alongside a local Service Manager, providing clear points of contact, guidance and supervision.
Participant-specific learning
We recognise that knowing disability support isn't the same as knowing the individual. Our approach gives workers the opportunity to learn participant routines, preferences and support requirements.
Personalised training and development
Training and development opportunities are informed by the people you support, the requirements of the role and your own development needs.
A focus on consistency and quality
We value workers who notice the details, communicate well and understand how much consistency matters within someone's home and daily life.
About you
You don't need to know everything on day one. We are looking for people who already bring solid disability support experience and, just as importantly, have the right approach.
You’ll be someone who is dependable, observant, respectful and willing to learn. You understand that you're working in someone's home and that the person's preferences, dignity, routines and independence should remain at the centre of the support you provide.
How to apply
Please submit your resume and a cover letter in PDF format with your application.
We genuinely want to hear a little about you, not just receive a list of qualifications.
In your cover letter, please tell us:
- A little about yourself and your approach to disability support
- Your experience working within SIL environments
- The types of supports you have experience providing
- What you think makes a great support worker
- Your general availability
- Whether you are interested in day/evening shifts, passive nights, or a combination of both
If you are applying with an interest in passive nights, please also let us know about your availability for daytime shifts during your initial onboarding and participant familiarisation period.
If you're an experienced support worker looking to become part of a consistent, well-supported SIL team in Adelaide's south, we'd love to hear from you.
We take the time to review applications to find the right fit for the people we support and our existing teams. If shortlisted, we may contact you for an initial phone interview to learn more about you, your SIL experience and availability.
