Enjoy working with diesel equipment and getting out in the field

Genwest is looking for a reliable, mechanically minded Service Person / Field Service Technician to join our Kalgoorlie team.

This is a hands-on role offering plenty of variety, working across our fleet of diesel generators, lighting towers and associated equipment.

You'll enjoy a mix of workshop maintenance, local field servicing and scheduled service runs to mine sites throughout the Goldfields. Some runs will involve overnight stays or multiple days away, with flexible roster arrangements available.

We're not necessarily looking for someone who knows everything about generators. If you've got practical mechanical skills, a good attitude and a willingness to learn, we'd like to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

- Scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on generators, lighting towers and associated equipment.

- Field service runs to mine sites throughout the Goldfields.

- Basic fault finding, mechanical repairs and equipment inspections.

- Pre-hire and off-hire inspections.

- Assisting with breakdowns and call-outs when required.

- Completing service reports and maintenance documentation.

- Working independently while being supported by our Kalgoorlie maintenance team.

What We're Looking For

- Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience maintaining diesel or mobile equipment.

- Valuable fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

- Current Australian C class driver's licence (HR highly regarded).

- Ability to work independently and manage your workload.

- Strong commitment to safety and a reliable work ethic.

- Willingness to travel and work away when required.

Generator experience, mining experience and mechanical qualifications are advantageous, but not essential.

What's in It for You

- Company-provided service vehicle for work-related duties.

- Flexible roster arrangements available.

- Stable, full-time employment based in Kalgoorlie.

- Variety of work across the workshop and Goldfield’s mine sites.

- Training and development within the power generation industry.

- Competitive remuneration based on experience.

- Support from an experienced local team.

- Salary Packaging

- Weekly Payroll
