Organisation Profile
Our client is a well-established ASX-listed group with a complex, multi-entity structure spanning several business lines.
It's coming off a record year and is evolving how its finance function is organised.
That has created an opportunity to strengthen its financial reporting team with a manager-level hire who wants to grow.
Role Overview
This is a hands-on Manager role reporting to the Financial Controller and working closely with senior finance leadership.
You'll own statutory reporting for a portfolio of legal entities, contribute to the group consolidation and annual report, and write the technical accounting papers that shape key judgements across the business.
Unlike many manager roles that drift into pure review, this one keeps you close to the work.
It's a genuine step up for strong Senior Financial Accountants ready to lead people for the first time, or for Finance Managers looking to move into a more complex, listed environment.
You'll lead and develop a small team of accountants in a function that values curiosity, fresh ideas and continuous improvement.
Why This Role Stands Out
A genuine first leadership step, with leaders who openly back potential and invest in development
Real exposure to listed-company reporting, the annual report, and Audit Committee and Board-level papers
A role where you prepare and own the work, building deep technical capability rather than just reviewing it
Clear career pathways into business partnering, Financial Controller and broader senior finance roles
A collaborative,
one-team culture with an open-door approach, where people pitch in and work through challenges together
Scope to bring fresh ideas and improve how things are done
Flexible hybrid working
Ideal Candidate
You're a CA/CPA qualified accountant who enjoys being hands-on with the numbers.
You've prepared full sets of financial statements, you understand consolidation and intercompany, and you're comfortable working through accounting judgements and putting them on paper.
You're curious by nature and quick to ask "why", and you're happy to roll up your sleeves while looking for better ways of doing things.
Whether you've already led a team or is ready to take that step, you bring the people skills to coach others and the confidence to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.

Hands-on experience preparing full sets of statutory financial statements
Solid understanding of consolidation, intercompany and Australian Accounting Standards
Experience writing technical accounting papers or working through accounting judgements

Strong Excel skills and experience with general ledger systems
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders
