Food Service Attendant Position - Residential Aged Care
Holloway Aged Care Services is seeking aFood Service Attendantto join our residential aged care facility in Keilor East.
This is acasual positionthat plays a vital role in ensuring our residents receive excellent meal service and dining experiences.
As a Food Service Attendant, you will be responsible for food preparation support, meal service, and maintaining kitchen hygiene standards.
Your work will directly contribute to the wellbeing and satisfaction of our residents, making this a meaningful role within our care community.
Key responsibilities
Assisting with food preparation including chopping, mixing, and portioning ingredients under the guidance of kitchen staff
Setting up and clearing dining areas and tables for meal services
Delivering meals to residents' rooms or communal dining areas in a timely and professional manner
Assisting residents with dining requirements where appropriate and ensuring their comfort during meals
Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in kitchen and dining areas in accordance with food safety regulations
Washing, sanitising and storing kitchen equipment, utensils and crockery
Supporting the preparation of special dietary meals as required by individual resident needs
Assisting with stock rotation and proper food storage procedures
Supporting the kitchen team in general duties to ensure smooth daily operations
Reporting any food safety concerns or resident feedback to senior staff members
What we're looking for
Previous experience in food service, kitchen operations or hospitality environments is highly desirable
A strong understanding of food hygiene and safety practices




Physical fitness and ability to stand for extended periods and lift items safely
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
A caring and compassionate attitude towards aged care residents
The ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions clearly
Reliability and punctuality, particularly important in a casual role
A valid Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one) may be required
Food handling certification or willingness to obtain this qualification is advantageous
