Cowan Welding & Fabrication Pty Ltd is seeking an experiencedWelderto join our dynamic team in Wagga Wagga, NSW.
This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work on diverse welding projects in a professional and collaborative environment.
You will be responsible for performing high-quality welding work across various materials and applications, contributing to the successful completion of our fabrication projects.
This role is based in office at our Wagga Wagga facility, where you will have the chance to develop your technical expertise whilst working with industry-standard equipment and alongside skilled tradespeople.
Key responsibilities
Perform welding operations using various techniques including MIG, TIG, and stick welding on a range of materials
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and welding specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements
Prepare materials and work areas for welding, including cleaning, cutting and positioning components as needed
Inspect completed welds for quality, strength and adherence to industry standards and specifications
Maintain and perform routine maintenance on welding equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety
Follow all health and safety protocols and procedures on site, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet project deadlines and maintain productivity standards
Document work completed and report any issues or concerns to management promptly
What we're looking for
Current or recent welding qualifications relevant to the trades and services industry,



such as certification in MIG, TIG or stick welding
Previous Body Building experience would be beneficial
Proven experience working as a welder in a commercial or industrial environment
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and welding specifications
Strong understanding of welding safety standards
Ability to work accurately and maintain high-quality standards under pressure
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication abilities and the capacity to work effectively within a team
Physical capability to perform the demands of the role, including standing for extended periods and working in various positions
A valid driver's licence is necessary
