We are seeking an experienced
Senior Backend Software Engineer
to design, build, and scale
cloud-native backend systems for our SaaS platform.
You will play a key role in shaping system architecture, improving performance, and delivering
robust services that support high-traffic, customer-facing applications.
This role combines hands-on engineering with architectural influence.
You will collaborate closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and distributed teams to
deliver reliable and scalable solutions in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using C# and .NET (6+)
Build and optimise RESTful APIs to support modern frontend applications
Architect and implement microservices-based systems with a focus on modularity and resilience
Develop and deploy solutions leveraging AWS cloud services
Ensure systems are highly available, secure, and performant
Collaborate with frontend engineers to ensure smooth API integration and performance
Partner with product and design teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and agile ceremonies
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following industry best practices
Implement automated testing strategies (unit, integration, end-to-end)
Identify and reduce technical debt, improving long-term system sustainability
Monitor and improve system performance, reliability, and scalability
Required Qualifications




5+ years of experience in backend software engineering (web or SaaS environments)
Strong proficiency in C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core
Experience building and maintaining web-based applications and APIs
Solid understanding of distributed systems and cloud-native architecture
Hands-on experience with AWS
Experience designing and implementing event-driven systems
Strong knowledge of relational databases (e.g., SQL Server) and ORM tools (e.g., Entity Framework)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and Elasticsearch
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, TeamCity)
Knowledge of containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
Exposure to serverless architectures
Experience supporting backend systems for modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React)
Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools
