Our client is a specialist insurance broker in Melbourne focused on Financial Lines.
It works with businesses across the wealth and financial services sector, and backs its broking with solid technology and data capability.
The business is growing and is adding senior broking talent to support that growth.
About the Role
I am recruiting on behalf of our client seeking a Head of Practice to lead its financial services client practice.
You'll report to the Managing Director and join the leadership team. You'll manage your own key relationships and have a say in strategy, product and how the business runs.
This is a hands-on leadership role. It suits a senior Financial Lines Broker who wants real influence and a share in the business.
Responsibilities include:
Leading and growing the financial services client practice
Owning relationships with senior decision makers at clients, insurers and referral partners
Building new business through referral and partner channels
Guiding prospective clients through a structured advisory process




Placing and negotiating cover with domestic and overseas insurers
Shaping business strategy, operations and current products
Improving systems, CRM and data-driven tools
About You
You'll have 5+ years in Financial Lines broking, placement or specialist insurance advisory.
Ideally you'll bring:
Exposure to financial services clients such as advice businesses, licensees, platforms or fund managers
Insurer relationships in Australia and offshore
A record of winning and retaining clients
Comfort with technology and an interest in better ways of working
A degree in Law, Finance or Commerce (highly regarded)
Financial Lines Brokers from global, national and specialist brokerages will be considered.
