The Role
As a result of ongoing investment in advanced AI capabilities, an exciting chance exists for a
Machine Learning Researcher
to lead the design, development and evaluation of a secure human-in-the-loop artificial intelligence platform. The solution will support the triage and analysis of potentially distressing digital material while reducing unnecessary investigator exposure and improving operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
Design multimodal ML solutions across image, video, text and audi
Develop classification, detection and analyst-review capabilities
Evaluate reliable, explainable and effective ML models
Build secure, reproducible ML pipelines
Deploy AI in secure and disconnected environments
Translate operational needs into technical outcome
Validate and assure model performance
Conduct risk and adversarial testing
Produce technical reports and recommendation
Provide leadership to collaborating researchers,



technical specialists and project stakeholders
Postgraduate qualification in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Software Engineering or related discipline
Demonstrated experience delivering machine learning solutions beyond proof-of-concept stage
Advanced Python development skills
Hands-on experience with modern ML frameworks such as PyTorch
Experience building reproducible data pipelines and deployable software solutions
Strong understanding of model evaluation including precision, recall, class imbalance, calibration and uncertainty
Experience working with sensitive or security-controlled information
Ability to translate complex operational requirements into practical technical outcomes
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Strong knowledge of privacy, security, responsible AI and human oversight principles
